Those employed in the field of private security generally provide security to individuals and businesses seeking private security services. Private security firms are often hired by wealthy individuals and celebrities to provide personal private security for individuals. Security firms may provide transportation and security at public events and at an individual’s place of residence. Private security is generally performed by private security firms who may employ a team of different security specialists and guards to secureindividuals, premises, and material goods.  Due to a round the clock need for security, many security guards seek employment as a second or part-time job.

Pass State Security Guard Licensing RequirementsÂ
There are no formal educational requirements to be a private security guard, accept to have a high school diploma and appropriate state licensing. Some higher end private security firms may only hire private security guards with experience in law enforcement or the military or a college degree in criminal justice or law enforcement. Most state licensing requirements include that guards be at least 18 years of age, pass a background check, complete state guard classroom training, and pass on going drug testing. For armed guards, a current weapons license must be kept and maintained.
