Training Specialist Career Field

training specialistTraining specialists can also be called corporate trainers. Their main job is to create training programs and conduct training for employees and businesses around the world. They often work under the human resources department. Training specialists can be responsible for conducting analysis to decide what training a business or institution might need. A training specialist may also be responsible to actually create the training and training materials. Many training specialists also actually conduct the training. Training specialists also need evaluation and reporting skills to both test and report on the effectiveness of their training. Most training specialists work for large businesses or organization as employees. Some training specialists are self-employed as consultants or work on a per project basis.

Educational Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree (4 years of College) in Education, Communications, or Human Resources
Graduate College Certification in Training (1 to 2 years beyond bachelor’s degree)
Master’s Degree (2 years beyond bachelor’s degree) in Adult Education, Education, Corporate Training

Training specialists must have at least a bachelor’s degree (4 years of college) in Education or another similar field. Many large companies are looking for training specialists with a graduate certification or master’s degree in a training field or education. Training specialists also need training and teaching experience.
